THE ORIGIN
STORY

Boring brands kill big careers.
You’re not a spreadsheet, you’re not a job title. And you sure as hell aren’t “results-driven.”
You’re a force, but nobody will know that if your story reads like a press release.

At Elo, we ghostwrite greatness.
We take the raw, unfiltered truth behind your leadership and turn it into a brand that hits different. One that opens doors, fills rooms, and makes the right people say, “We need them.”

We work with founders, CEOs, operators, rebels, and re-inventors.
The ones who’ve done the real work and are ready to own it.

If you’re done being underestimated, we’re your people.

HOW IT BEGAN

It began with Kate Allinson. She had worked in corporate PR and brand strategy for years, building messaging for some of the most visible companies in the world. She wouldn't say so herself but she is a international branding savant. While working in PR agencies, she noticed something. The executives behind those companies were often left without a voice. Their stories were scattered across old bios, outdated headshots, and lifeless résumés that felt more like lists than reflections of a career.

So she began writing for them. One client at a time. She built narratives that felt real. Clarity replaced jargon. Depth replaced spin. Slowly, the work evolved. What started as a résumé company with a sharper lens became something else. Biographies turned into brand strategy. Brand strategy turned into visibility. Clients didn’t just want to sound like leaders. They wanted to show up with purpose and the thousands of clients that keep coming back to her are a testament to her exceptional craft and endless curiosity.

Luke Curulli came with bold niche strategies and vision. His first experience growing a brand came at a young age in Auckland, New Zealand. He scaled his godfather’s free range egg business into one of New Zealand’s most recognizable food brands and pioneered the premium free range market long before it was popular. From there, he worked in Australia with global names like Penfolds wine and Treasury Wine Estates, helping grow and position premium products across major markets. He has been trained in sales and communication as well as being taught negotiation and presentation strategy from the team that bids on behalf of countries to host the Olympics.

Luke sees a brand through the lens of instinct and authenticity. He’s an actor and was a motocross champion from a young age. He pays attention to timing, delivery and is the head of 'the tiny details' department in our business - something which he challenges all of us on every day. He listens and he’s worked with thousands of executives to help them find the words, rhythm, and tone that fits. Not for performance, but because communication is the only tool we really have when the moment matters.

Kate and Luke built Elo slowly and with care. They didn’t set out to become an agency. They responded to needs and the market. They followed what was working and refined things based on the ever changing global marketplace. They stayed close to their clients and let the work shape itself - many past clients have become friends and more than a few ventures have been born from the initial project with Elo.

For over a decade and counting, Elo is known among senior executives, founders, and board leaders as the place you go when you need to be ready. For a role, a keynote, a media interview, a career inflection point. The work is thoughtful. Quiet. Done in close collaboration. No layers. No jargon.

We help people understand the shape of their own story, so they can move through the world with more certainty. And we help others see it too.

The work we do lives in resumes and bios and LinkedIn profiles, but also in strategy decks, keynote scripts, funding narratives, media introductions, board placements, and closed-room conversations. We do the brand work no one else sees, but that sets the tone for everything else.

Some of our clients are publicly visible. Some are not. Some are well into their careers and looking to go deeper. Others are just arriving at a new chapter and want to make sense of it as it begins.

We spend time getting to know people, and then we give them language that fits. That’s the whole approach.

A few things you should know
Kate started in speechwriting and corporate comms. She’s led national brand strategy for listed companies, launched founders into the press, and worked with CEOs to shift public narratives in the middle of live events and M&A activity. She runs Elo’s executive profiling and founder strategy work.

Luke is a communicator, strategist and operator with global growth experience. He’s scaled brands across APAC, EMEA, and the US, and knows how to position people and ideas so they land. He leads Elo’s partnerships and executive brand activations.

They also run Marlin, a search and placement firm that works with PE-backed companies, VCs, and private operating businesses. Many of Elo’s clients move seamlessly between the two when the time is right.

behind the brand

Kate continues to write and speak about a new kind of leadership one that’s more human, more honest, and more deeply attuned to what this moment asks of us. Her work blends brand strategy with lived experience, and it resonates with executives who are ready to step forward without needing to shout.

Luke now splits his time between Elo Branding and his work through Marlin, where he helps companies find exceptional leaders. It’s a natural extension of the work he’s done for years: spotting potential, listening closely, and helping people show up fully where it matters most.

You’ll find both Kate and Luke on LinkedIn, sharing thoughts in real time, and often in their Boulder community speaking with local founders, supporting high-growth teams or up the mountain with their snowboards.
